Fredkopset Norway (fk)

FK Norway (Fredskorpset) mainly arranges reciprocal exchanges of personnel between organizations in Norway and developing countries. Their objective is to contribute to lasting improvements in economic, social and political conditions around the world. The exchange occurs in a partnership between two or more organizations or companies, with support from FK Norway. The aim is to promote the mutual exchange of knowledge, experiences and skills. This goes both ways: the organization or company both sends and receives participants.

FK Norway is a public body answerable to the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and fully state funded. Over the past ten years, about 4,300 participants have been exchanged.

Kenya Community Based Tourism Network (KECOBAT) and Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA) are involved with exchange of staff. The next three rounds of the exchange will also include Tanzania Association of Cultural Tourism (TACTO).

About KECOBAT

The Kenya Community Based Tourism Network (KECOBAT) network was launched in August 2003 as a membership umbrella organization representing the interest of Community Based Tourism (CBT) organizations in Kenya.

It aims to facilitate information sharing; delivering appropriate technical support and advisory services; mediating and lobbying their interests to government and other relevant institutions and thereby integrating community concerns into national tourism.
