Andrew Kwemboi

Andrew Kwemboi is the current Project Administrator at KECOBAT. He is a graduate of Tourism Management from School of Business and Economics from Moi University. Andrew has worked well with the tourism stakeholders driving the CBTE membership of Kecobat to a greater height. 

As the organization’s project administrator, Andrew provides administrative, logistical support and maintaining office inventory. He is in charge of project reports, workshops and seminars. In addition, he coordinates travel facilitation, procurement and supplies requests. 

Andrew also was initially attached with the Ministry of Tourism in the licensing section. He later joined KECOBAT and was a beneficiary of fk-world exchange programme that saw him being placed in Uganda for one year. While in Uganda, he helped the organization with marketing of CBTE’s - members of Uganda Community Tourism Association (UCOTA). 

While in Kenya, Andrew was involved in homestay training together with the ministry and he helped conduct the accreditation guidelines programme operations. He drafted the accreditation guidelines that was later presented to the ministry for review and printing.

He is a self-motivated, team player and hardworking individual with vast experience in administration and community tourism.

About KECOBAT

The Kenya Community Based Tourism Network (KECOBAT) network was launched in August 2003 as a membership umbrella organization representing the interest of Community Based Tourism (CBT) organizations in Kenya.

It aims to facilitate information sharing; delivering appropriate technical support and advisory services; mediating and lobbying their interests to government and other relevant institutions and thereby integrating community concerns into national tourism.
